The closing day of Hyundai India Couture Week 2024 witnessed the revered luxury designer brand, Falguni Shane Peacock, showcase its couture collection, Rang Mahal, in collaboration with Swadesh, a Reliance Foundation initiative that supports, promotes and uplifts Indian weavers and craftsmen.
Falguni Shane Peacock is a name synonymous with modern contemporary traditional wear and 2024 marked the designer duo’s 20th year in the global fashion industry. To commemorate the milestone occasion, the revered brand joined hands with Swadesh to create ensembles that portrayed a seamless union of heritage craftsmanship and modern couture.
The elaborate collection showcased a balanced synthesis of traditional and modern elements. From sequined dresses to handwoven sarees to chikankari lehengas, Rang Mahal was an ode to the rich Indian heritage and the age-old techniques that form the foundation of modern Indian fashion.
The fashion-forward night featured a trail of couture ensembles, showcasing the perfect amalgamation of culture and couture in true Falguni Shane Peacock fashion. And who better than the uber-fashionable Rashmika Mandanna to open the momentous show?

For the opening look, Rashmika walked down the ramp dressed in an ivory Chikankari lehenga created in collaboration with Swadesh. The georgette-based hand-embroidered chikankari lehenga skirt featured traditional motifs adorned with intricate Mukaish work, showcasing the unparalleled craftsmanship of Indian artisans.
The lehenga skirt also featured intricate handwork detailing using pearls and Swarovski crystals. The pristine yet elaborate lehenga skirt was decorated with hundreds of tassels, including around eighty ornament tassels featuring pearls, Swarovski crystals, precious emeralds and a plethora of pearl cluster tassels on the hem.
The skirt was paired with a tulle-embellished blouse and a trail dupatta with similar embellishments. The meticulously tailored blouse featured intricate embroidery patterns adorned with golden sequins, Swarovski crystals and pearls. The beauty of the blouse was further enhanced with the addition of a multitude of pearl tassels on the hem of the blouse and sleeves.
