VICKY KAUSHAL AND RASHMIKA MANDANNA GRACED THE RAMP FOR HYUNDAI INDIA COUTURE WEEK 2024

The closing show of the 17th edition of Hyundai India Couture Week was all about Indian heritage, modern couture and the seamless amalgamation of the two, effortlessly showcased through Rang Mahal, a rare collection by Falguni Shane Peacock.

The Hyundai India Couture Week 2024 was a special one, as this year marks the completion of the glorious two decades of Falguni Shane Peacock as a global luxury brand. To commemorate the momentous occasion, the luxury designer brand joined hands with Swadesh, a Reliance Foundation initiative that supports, promotes and uplifts Indian weavers and craftsmen. The fruition of the collaboration was witnessed through one-of-a-kind couture ensembles tailored using the finest weaves, adorned with ancient embroidery techniques and embellishments.

The elaborate collection featured couture lehengas, gowns, dresses, sarees, kurta sets, sherwanis and more, showcasing distinctive embroidery techniques, embellishments and motifs. However, the highlight of the show was the outfits tailored in collaboration with Swadesh. From flowy silk sarees to chikankari lehengas to Banarasi brocade sherwanis, Rang Mahal was a tribute to the cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship.

Following this year’s theme, Indian Heritage, Rang Mahal was inspired by around forty traditional elements, including lions, tigers, palaces, lotuses, swans, peacocks and more. These elements were meticulously incorporated with contemporary designs to create an inimitable couture collection. As the eventful evening unfolded, the heritage-inspired collection took the fashion mavens on an odyssey that was both magnificent and aspirational.

The onlookers went into a frenzy as our dashing showstopper, Vicky Kaushal, walked the ramp dressed in a royal beige-hued sherwani made in collaboration with Swadesh. The glimmering sherwani was seamlessly tailored using Banarasi brocade and featured ivory bead detailing all over, imparting a regal but sophisticated appearance. The dapper sherwani was styled with a translucent, tissue kurta and raw silk pants.

For the closing look, Rashmika wore a tulle-based ivory lehenga with intricate pearl, Swarovski and gold sequin detailing, showcasing the true essence of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary elements.

The resplendent lehenga skirt was paired with a sleeveless cropped blouse with pearls, Swarovski and gold sequins for a cohesive look. The blouse was further enhanced with cold-shoulder tassel detailing and tassels on the hemline and an embellished trail dupatta was added as the final element.
